Are there parts of yourself you learned not to be?
Selfish. Angry. Needy. Bossy. Greedy. Lazy. Too Much.
Maybe you learned not to be weak. Or loud. Or emotional. Not to desire too much, want too much, take up too much space.
And the rules don't stop with personality.
Be thin. Look young. Stay attractive. Move the right way. Behave appropriately.
We learn, often very early, which parts of ourselves are acceptable—and which are not.
So we adapt.
We become independent instead of needy. Agreeable instead of angry. Responsible instead of playful. Modest instead of visible. Controlled instead of emotional.
Some of those adaptations serve us beautifully.
But when “I am not that” becomes “I cannot be that,” our freedom begins to shrink.
That is where shadow work begins.
Register HereWhat Is Shadow?
Carl Jung used the term shadow to describe aspects of ourselves that are excluded from our conscious identity.
Shadow isn't necessarily bad, dark or shameful.
It is simply what we have made “not me.”
But “not me” still defines me.
If I must never be selfish, I organize myself around being selfless.
If I cannot be weak, I stay strong.
If I cannot be needy, I remain alone.
If I cannot be angry or emotional, I stay agreeable and in control.
What we resist can quietly become one of the forces organizing our lives.
Why Explore Shadow?
Because shadow work isn't about digging around for what's wrong with you.
It's about increasing your freedom.
When we can recognize a quality without immediately rejecting it, we gain the ability to decide:
Might this actually be me? Is it useful ? Do I want it? Is this a real NO—or something I've simply never allowed myself to try?
Selfishness chooses.
Weakness rests.
Neediness receives.
Anger protects.

The Golden Shadow Gift
The Golden Shadow holds qualities we disown not because we despise them, but because we haven't yet allowed ourselves to believe they belong to us.
Power. Beauty. Confidence. Creativity. Sensuality. Leadership. Freedom.
Think of someone you deeply admire or are drawn to—a teacher, a lover, a friend, a public figure. What is it about them that captivates you?
Sometimes what we admire—or even envy—in another person is a quality we haven't yet claimed in ourselves.
The Golden Shadow invites us to stop seeing that quality as something they have and begin asking: Where does this live in me? What would it look like to let myself have more of it?

Let's Go!
WARM HELLO!
I'm Janet Farnsworth
I am a body empowerment & intimacy coach, and the founder of Ready for Intimacy™, a movement-based, spiritual transformation system to help women feel confident in their bodies so they can enjoy passionate, connected, and soul-satisfying intimacy. I am also the two-time bestselling author of "Love Your Body: The Guide to Stop Making Your Body a Battleground” & "Your Body is Your Superpower”.
After 30 years supporting women heal body trauma - including sexual assault, addiction, disability prejudice, and eating disorders - I now travel the globe spreading the word about the miracle of every body and the rich relationships we deserve.
I am currently based on Maui in Hawaii, where I am happily letting go of my own old stories about the size of my thighs, and instead, alternate between enjoying gloriously fulfilling connection when with beloved family, and nature hikes when on my own.
JANET'S COURSE QUITE LITERALLY CHANGED MY LIFE!
She guided me to undo years of trauma and she expertly lead me to reconnect to my body in a healthy and expansive way. Her genuine compassion allowed me to safely express feelings I didn't even know were keeping me captive in patterns that were holding me back from my true self, and satisfying intimacy. Her intuitive prowess knew when to hold space and when to dig deeper which allowed a true reconnection to the wisdom on my own body.
Being equipped with the tools of her course, I have been able to deepen the connection to myself, move forward in challenging relationships, step into my true potential and embrace my true worth.
The only regret I have is that I wasn't equipped with the tools of this course sooner.
